The Clay Blevins Family Foundation serves as the long-term steward of the Clay Blevins Collection LLC, and treats art and culture as a full pillar of its mission, not an adjacent interest.

Clay’s academic training in anthropology shaped his interest in how artists respond to history. The museum-bound collection is grounded in the belief that war, migration, and social upheaval continue to shape people long after the events themselves have passed. It seeks out artists who bear witness to those histories while also recognizing resilience, healing, and hope.

Our goal is to preserve important works, deepen understanding across cultures, and ensure these stories remain accessible for future generations.  Through partnerships, exhibitions, and support for cultural organizations, we seek to broaden access to meaningful artistic experiences and strengthen the role of art in community life.

The philosophy of the Clay Blevins Collection LLC is also reflected in Clay’s service to cultural institutions.  He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Frist Art Museum, where he chairs the Development Council, and on the Art Collection Committee of Cheekwood Estate & Gardens.
